For #SeriesLove2023 I started out in the middle of eight series. I finished (or bailed on the rest of) of four of those, then started and completed 11 more!! It kind of felt like a failure because four of the series I started with last year are at the top of my #SeriesLove2024 list, but now that I actually look at it, I made good progress, so go me 😂 Thanks for hosting @TheSpineView @Andrew65 !!!

GinaKButler Ohhhh…I missed their challenge post! Thank you! I‘m joining for next year! Love your book journal! 12mo

TheAromaofBooks @GinaKButler - Thank you!! I love tracking my reading on my spreadsheet, but for various challenges and buddy reads I have really gotten into creating a book journal every year. 12mo
Andrew65 @GinaKButler Great to have you with us 😁 I‘m putting together a tag list for #SeriesLove2024 and will add you to that so everyone sees any future posts. 12mo
Andrew65 My #SeriesLove2023 got out of hand and need to make sure this year I keep to my list better. 12mo

WOW, this book broke me a few times and made me ache for the protagonist, who blames herself for a terrible accident in the aftermath of which she also almost died. Written by a local-to-me author, the book is concerned with both what happens, plotwise, before, during, and after a canoeing trip, and more with grief, loss, shame, learning how to be an adult, needing attention and love and care, and a lot more. Beautifully written. 4.5⭐️ 🛶🏕💔

suzisteffen Couple more things - it's also about river rats, outdoors people, the demands that perfectionists make on the world. I think it falls down to a 3 or 3.5 when he tries to have the teen girls interact - it is, I think, both sexist and not aware of the dynamics of teen girls - but those parts are short, and the rest of it is intensely good about what's going on in Emma's head. 5y

Starting this novel that my partner brought and wants me to read so we can give it to a friend who lives in Germany. In the background, part of the AirBnB in Annecy, France.

I could not connect to this book. Although this book was written in the voice of a teenaged girl, I'm not sure who this book is for. It was well written but definitely not for me.
