Day10 #booktober #outofthisworld I went nostalgic for this post. My 5th grade teacher, Mr. Davis had a thing for science fiction & introduced me to this YA post-apocalyptic series first published in 1967-68. It freaked me out (in a good way) w/the giant tripods, the 'capping' mind control at age 14 & the aliens inside the tripods. I reread the series on Kindle last year & it was not quite as scary, but still fun. These are the covers I remember.😱

quirkyreader Those were the covers I had. There might be a fourth book to this series. I think it was a prequel of some sort. 9y
Dragon I remember these books from school 😀👍 9y
Ehbooklover I was completely obsessed with these books when I was a kid. My grade 5 teacher got me hooked on them when she read a chapter to the class every day. I recently reread The White Mountains and still loved it! 9y
DebinHawaii @quirkyreader There was a prequel introduced in the late 80s I think and a U.K. program too. 👍😀 @Dragon Fun! 👍👍 @Ehbooklover Yay for 5th grade teachers who introduced us to this book! 😀😀📚 9y
