I wanted to like this one! I like the concept and the execution. The tension is phenomenal. I completely understand why everyone recommends it. I just don‘t know why it felt like a slog to me.

I loved everything about this book especially the incredibly creepy writing. Unfortunately the ending was a disappointment 😔

Not as frightful as The Ritual, but still a solid spooky read.
It‘s like if The Shining were set in London.
Trying some spooky October reading. First book of his I've tried. Had it for years, but never got around to it. Reading in broad daylight, just in case. Also going to see the film of his book, The Ritual, this evening. So it's an Adam Nevill kind of day I guess. #dogsoflitsy
I think it could have been better. The concept is interesting and the fear factor is there but I just found myself mired down in the sub plot lines too often. There were a few extraneous scenes that just weren't all that necessary.
For #riotgrams day six #numbertitles: one of my favorites with a number in the title. It's incredibly creepy and atmospheric. Definitely a freezer worthy horror!
All Hallow's Read is my favorite book-based holiday! I can hardly wait to share scary books with my friends and family each year. The first offering landed on its recipient's doorstep today. Happy haunting! #GiveaScaryBook 😱🍂🔪👻💀👹👽🤖🙀🎃
I got through the prologue and part of the first chapter and I was already skimming through all the tedious exposition and cringing at the horrible dialogue. So glad you can return Kindle books!
Apryl's great aunt has passed away, leaving everything to Apryl and her mother. The inheritance includes an apartment in London, one her great aunt barely left for fifty years. And then Apryl learns why.
I'm glad I read this one during the day, with my four legged reading buddies by my side!
