In this story told mostly through letters, busybody Dick Tater tries to ban Halloween and ghost stories, as well as to break up the popular writing team of I. B. Grumply, ghost Olive C. Spence, and eleven-year-old illustrator Seymour Hope.

1. Tagged was the last middle grade book and The Shadow of the Wind was the last adult book.
2. Terrible writing or if it feels like a chore. I rarely bail, though I do set aside for later if it's a mood problem.
3. Carlos Ruiz Zafon - first read him in January 2019 and read 3 so far.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Book 2 is another fun installment! When word gets out that Iggy is seeing the ghost of the dearly departed, aspiring, local author Olive, the townspeople think he's nutty. What will become of the abandoned child, Seymour? Will the next three chapters of Iggy's book ever be written?! This is also told mostly though letters, but includes some drawings by Seymour, too. The character names also make me giggle. #MiddleGradeMarch

Blueberry A book by kate klise is always a good read. 5y

Seymour and Ignatius are taken from the Spence Mansion after an anonymous letter turns up alerting authorities to a not quite legal living situation! Chaos ensues ending with Olive's exhumation... or is it? Another super fun installment in this quirky series. 😍

#AugustIsATrip Day 8: The 2nd book in the 43 Old #Cemetery Road series, is made up of a compilation of letters that the characters have written to each other, newspaper clippings, invoices, admission forms to mental institutions. The pastiche format, the beautiful illustrations, the twists and turns of the narrative are all effectively combined to produce a book that would be enjoyed and loved by children.
