The craziest thing has been happening since I started my #littlefreelibrary - I've mentioned that since the school library is closed that I've been working with a group of 9 special ed students in 7th grade. Clearly, I'm pushing books all the time and do a reading block with them twice a week. Johanna414 the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy movie. Less than a week later a deluxe set of all 5 books is donated and I gift it to that student. 2 weeks ago, a girl tells me her sister has all the Twilight books and wont let her read them. Guess what I happened to have in my LFL? 4y
Johanna414 So another boy who has some significant learning disabilities, a "tough" attitude and a self professed hatred of school suddenly got really attached to the Gary Paulsen book I chose for him to try. Taking it home to read on his own, carrying it with him. Turns our it's about a boy who hunts w/ his grandpa & grandpa gets sick. My guy lost his grandpa who raised him last year.... That book was donated to my LFL today and is going home w/ him. 4y
Johanna414 Same with the Artemis Fowl series that was also donated today (after yet another kid started listening to the 1st audio and LOVING IT last Thursday) and the first HP for a kid my coteacher and I were just discussing yesterday- he loves the movies but has never read the books. We have the audiobook cued up on his iPad ready to go for tomorrow morning, and now he has his own paper copy. 4y

Johanna414 Literally 5 of my 9 kids have books of their own thanks to donations to my little free library. This is all completely by chance, I have not solicited donations. How crazy is that?! Most of these kids do not come from homes where anyone is buying them books, so they get really excited - despite claiming they dont like to read 😜 4y
