Studs Terkel, a Chicago radio personality, had a long standing legacy of tackling topics that provoked thought and conversation. In the 60s Terkel interviewed Civil rights workers (both Black & White) about racial equality. He reinterviewed the same people in the 1990s to see if they felt “Equality” had been achieved. Not surprisingly the races still lived in a very different country. This book took me by storm - the interviews are powerful!

#BookMail 📬🎉 This book is perhaps a little dated (pub 1992) but should be informative about the evolution of how everyday Americans view racial issues in America. Studs Terkel was an oral historian that conducted interviews with a wide variety of people, many working class, to gauge social thinking. I haven't read any of his work yet but this looked like a good place to start. Will report back.
