The thrilling sequel to the runaway bestseller The Last Girl.Zoey is not the woman she once was. She s watched her friends die at the hands of their captors, been hunted, and returned from the brink of death. Now she must find the truth about who she is.In search of the family she never knew, Zoey learns of personal records stored in an Idaho missile silo that may contain the information she and the other women seek. With the help of her group of newfound friends, Zoey travels to the missile facility, but among the records, they uncover information that leads to an insidious and horrific new foe: the Fae Trade, a macabre carnival of slavery and pain.Zoey s journey into the darkest parts of the human psyche brings her perilously close to the ever-thinning line between good and evil, and the final cost in her quest for justice might be her own humanity."

Book two in a dystopian trilogy where females are few.

This book follows on directly from book one and like the first book I feel disconnected from the characters. The series is action packed enough that character depth isn't a huge issue however the author has gone to great lengths to provide the readers with a really diverse cast so it feels a shame that all the characters feel so flat.

Full trilogy is available on Kindle Unlimited.

Pickpick

this book is so intense and the ending was so unexpected. the next installment to this trilogy can not get here soon enough. definitely a recommended book, both books 1 and 2.

“I am Presto Preston, the ringmaster and your humble host. We‘ve traveled thousands of miles to be here with you tonight!” Elliot continues, his voice deep and rich in timbre, carrying over the last of the crowd‘s cries. “To bring you marvels of the fantastic.” He draws a white handkerchief from the breast pocket of his suit. “And to let you experience the magic still alive in the world.”

I waited forever (it felt like) to get my paperback copy of this. For a long time I didn't think it would be anything but an e-book. The first one in the trilogy was. And I don't mind an e-book, but I am an old soul. I like the other sensations that go along with a physical book- the feel of the pages, the smell of the paper, cover art. So I waited for this to come out in paperback. End of days dystopia. My cup of tea.
