So I posted this photo about a week ago when I was happily reading while waiting for my car to be serviced. And I'm still pretty much on the same page I was then. I usually read a lot. Every day. A lot every day. But I have been so flippin' busy that this book, which I'm enjoying, has been sadly neglected. The good news is, I have a life! The bad news is, all I want to do is read! Anyone else out there in the same boat this season? Talk to me!
Waiting at the car dealership and being transported to Afghanistan.
My "to be read" list is already a mile long, and now the books in Saturday's reviews are calling my name. Gonna need to hunker down this fall/winter and get to it! Can't wait! ?
First off, I want to point out that I have the perfect sheets for this book (though none of the swans would be caught dead taking a common cab!) Then I would like to say that this book sent me to "the Google" dozens of times, finding photos of the swans as they were in real life, looking at photos of a young Truman Capote, and reading more about the big personalities in this book.
I read The Goldfinch before I read this one. Donna Tartt's voice shines through in both of them.
This book is finally here! I'm reading it in tiny chunks because I want to make it last a good long time.
