The writing style was good, the book itself was hard to read during all this political turmoil :/

Dragged on and on... a very dull book.

This was an audiobook. I didn't like it at all. The world building was not believable and the relationships were not real to me. I am told the second book is the best one, so maybe I will try the second one, but I have to admit I don't get why this book is so popular. I'm surprised I got through it all :/

This book was a bit slow but it picked up, and I really liked how the relationship builds gradually. The style and language is very nice, there are quotable descriptions and realistic works building, although the politics are too simple.

I'm having a hard time getting through this book. It feels like it's just dragging on and on... Although that could be because strangers keep interrupting my reading and asking stuff about the book (people really should know better than to bug readers - seriously...)

Wow what a book! It's terrifying and addictive in an unhealthy way, like picking at a scab. It's very powerful but so realistically hopeless and sad at time that it won't let you sleep at night until you've finished it. Now, I mostly read fantasy and YA, so this is definitely out of my comfort zone, but I highly recommend.

The ability of the author to write from the boy's perspective is stunning, but the book is pretty sad.
