This book has all the elements I most enjoy in young adult fantasy with a romantic bent, without being trite/predictable. The main character is flawed and naive, but follows an enjoyable trajectory of development. I like how all the other characters do not instantly fall all over themselves to worship the ground she walks on, once her abilities become apparent. The world is well developed--I love the concept of storms as sentient beings.
