Beautiful Darkness | Kami Garcia, Margaret Stohl

Pickpick

I read the second installment to this series a lot faster than I read the first one. Although there seemed to be less happening in this book, it was nice to see the character development, and to meet entirely new characters.
I still love the relationship between Ethan and Lena, and cant wait to see what happens in the third book. Hopefully I can add it to my christmas wishlist.

It's taken a while, but I've finally finished it! This was my second read of beautiful creatures, I choose to read it again as I'm moving onto the second one and wanted to recap the story. Still really like this book, I love the characters, especially Macon, although maybe that's because Jeremy irons plays him in the movie. I do feel like the book is slightly too long though, it could do with being maybe 100 pages shorter.

Another good, but also gut wrenchingly sad book about Auschwitz.
After studying the war for 14 years at school, I'm not ususlly that bothered about reading/watching anything about it.
But this, and the tattooist of Auschwitz did grab my attention. Getting single peoples points of view of what happened is horrifying, yet I also couldn't stop reading.
An awful topic to read about, but a good book

Black Beauty | Anna Sewell
Pickpick

This was one of my favourite books when I was younger.
And reading it while I'm older, its still a brilliant book.
I love the writing style with the P.O.V coming from black beauty. You feel like you're watching his life unfold from the side lines. While reading I was transported to 19th century England, and while it's just a story, its horrible to know the horrors that some horses went through.
This book will always remain one of my favourites.

Postmortem | Patricia Cornwell
Mehso-so

I enjoyed this book, it's a pretty average detective novel. I enjoyed the pace of it, although not many murders happen in it. And I like the character Kay Scarpetta.
My only criticism would be for the best part of the middle if the story she seemed to focus too much on the science behind the evidence. There wasn't enough action.
Still an enjoyable read and I will read others by her
