"Surely until all of us own and honor one another's dead, until we have admitted to our murders and forgiven one another and ourselves for what we have done, there can be no truce, no dignity and no peace."

This book is coming out next tuesday and I highly suggest you go get it immediately. Bennett does an amazing job of illustrating the way that the actions of youth can follow people throughout their lives, especially in small communities. I was particularly enthralled with the mothers - the group of elderly church women who act both as minor characters and the omniscient narrators of the novel.
The Library at Mount Char is a science fantasy novel centred around some extremely unusual librarians investigating the death of their god-like "Father".
What I loved most about this novel was the world building - it did an incredible job of establishing fantastical elements in a world in based contemporary reality.
Just a note: there is a lot of extremely graphic violence in this book, so if that bothers you, stay away.
