The Burning Bridge: Book Two | John A. Flanagan
post image

“Ranger‘s Apprentice - The burning bridge” by John Flanagan, is a fantastic book! I loved reading it so much. The author is very descriptive, so you feel like you are there with all of the characters. There are details put into the book that I wouldn't think to put in there. The characters are so lovable and relatable that you grow really attached to them, and wish you could intervene when things don't go as planned. ---> more in comments

jerah.bretherick The story focuses on a young, orphaned, ranger apprentice named Will. Who, is just beginning to develop his ranger skills with the help of his mentor, Halt (a solemn, sarcastic, old man). While traveling across dangerous territory with his companions, Will uncovers an evil plot to destroy Araluen (His home-country). Now he must make the decision to give up his own freedom for the survival of the kingdom.

jerah.bretherick The Oakleaf crest - is the symbol that all member of the ranger corps must wear. It shows the responsibility they carry, and reminds them of the vows they swore. They are to serve and protect the kingdom of Araluen with their lives. It also reminds Will throughout the novel that even though he is only an apprentice, he is just as responsible as any other ranger. He is held to the same standard of excellence, and his decisions could mean the differ 5y

Hacker | Ted Dekker

“Hacker“(The Outlaw Chronicles) by Ted Dekker, is now my favourite book. I love it because it ties spiritual elements in with the physical world we know.
After her father and brother passed away in an accident, Nyah is left to find ways to make ends meet for her and her brain dead mother. She turns to using her technological talents to hack into big corporations, and create problems, so she can get paid to fix them...

jerah.bretherick After her biggest job yet goes horrifically awry, she finds herself seeking help from an old friend to crack open the dark secrets haunting her from her latest operation, bring her mom back, and prevent her friend from sharing a similar fate as herself.

jerah.bretherick The outlaw symbol - or Deditio, which means 'Surrender' is a specific symbol in the book that Nyah's friend sees in his visions from the hacks. It is the symbol that represents the mark of a Christian. The Outlaw. 5y
MissYaremcio Oh this sounds like a fantastic book! If you like books about communicating with the deceased, I would highly suggest reading “If I Stay“ - a little bit of a different premise but a totally fantastic read! Well done on your review! 6/6 5y
