"In nightmares we can think the worst. That's what they're for, I guess."
"....and those terrible things I saw, and in which I played a great part."
-Virgil
"Haunted: 'Often visited by ghosts or spirits'... Haunting: 'Persistently recurring to the mind; difficult to forget'... To haunt: 'To appear or recur often, especially as a ghost'... And one more. This one, like the last, is a definition of haunt as a noun, and it's the one that really scares me: 'A feeding place for animals'....A feeding place for animals. Yes, that's the one that haunts me."
"Smells of dirt and wet and long-gone vegetables would merge into one unmistakable ineluctable smell, the smell of the monster, the apotheosis of all monsters. It was the smell of something for which he had no name: the smell of It, crouched and lurking and ready to spring."
It started a little slow, but once it got going I didnt wanna put it down. The ending was a little anti-climactic, but overall I enjoyed it.
A Swedish proverb says, "Worry gives a small thing a big shadow."
