Not the usual book I read, but I really enjoyed the way Reid connected family themes throughout generations. It's a family drama genre with some old Hollywood vibes mixed with SoCal surfer girl themes.

What can I say, I'm still the little girl who stayed up all night reading a fantasy book with a love triangle. This book harkened back to those times, while also having a compelling and fun story. I personally prefer this to ACOTAR, but that's because fae and magic aren't as front and center and I enjoy the warrior assassin heroine vibe a bit more. Books 4+ have more fae if that's your jam.
As someone who grew up with iCarly this made me re-evaluate some of my childhood favorites. This was the first time I heard a detailed and first person honest account of having an eating disorder. That was eye opening and it was so sad how her mom had a part in that. Overall gripping story that talks about the extreme complexity of a daughter-mother relationship.
This was a very harrowing story that makes you doubt the sanity of anyone who summits Everest. The story was well written, but a little bit rambly at times switching between 1996 and previous expeditions, at times this was lightly annoying because I wanted to hear more about what happened in 1996, but I understand that a lot of context needed to be set so that the layman (like me) could understand mountaineering terms.
Good storytelling. As someone who loves video games it was fun to have video games intertwined with the story. Overall it's a book about hardship and friendship. People trying to make their way through the world and life pushing against them.
Very fun book, reminded me of the books I loved in middle school. Overall fun read, easy to pick up and difficult to put down.
Relatively cliche story with no real twists. The story was basically a woman overcoming her self esteem issues because a man loved them out of her. The dialogue wasn't anything special, which is unfortunate given that it was set in a spoof of SNL. You have to imagine that comedy writers would be funnier than what was portrayed here.
Gripping story that keeps you guessing, a quick read even though it's long.
Loved the different stories being woven together into a singular theme
