Pickpick

I- not being particularly good in Maths or in love with Science- enjoyed this book about the two geniuses Humboldt and Gauß very much. Both attempted to measure and explore the world in their very own, distinctive ways and left a tremendous mark on scientific standard and progress nowadays. If you want to loose yourself in a simply- but also beautifully told story, go and check out this book, which made Kehlmann famous in 2005.

Pickpick

What a brilliant journey into the wide sphere of modern technologies and social networks. The metaphysical levels in this book, like the author Kehlmann talking literally with his character, make this book a fresh and thought-provoking example of contemporary, German literature. Ground-breaking in its attempt to renew and rethink the old structures of novels, you should definitely pick up this novel, which is told in nine (connected) stories.

Ever wondered how our lifes and world realities are influenced and controlled by technologies? Or how our existence seems to be entirely encased by social lifestyles, which break down the barrier between reality and fiction? Go and check out "Fame" by Kehlmann, it is worth the read.
