Like PJO, the characters were funny and endearing. I liked all the references to PJO and the way Rick Riordan weaved the Norse mythology with his own story. The only thing I didn't appreciate was Magnus Chase sounding so much like Percy Jackson. My 12 year old self would have loved this, though.

I didn't enjoy this as much as the first book. The action and story development lagged, compared to the first book, that it seemed more like an in-between instead of a continuation.

However, the ending! I need the conclusion novel now!

I liked Clockwork Angel and I want to read Lady Midnight. But reading this book felt like reading fanfiction. Apparently, it gets good by the time you get to City of Glass. But do I really want to push through a couple of books to get into a series?

This is my type of book. It had a unique yet believable world building, creative storyline, and complex characters I couldn't help but fall in love with. I want the next book! 💐🎩
