This I have a mighty need for!
Just because I will always be inspired by Jo. Enough said!

I read this whole series a while back . I was in a reading slump and found these books while watching a booktuber. Even if the books was not some sort of masterpiece when it came to writing and the characters all fell I love with one another all the time it was still this refreshing story with a badass female protagonist ( an assassin at start ).
I really enjoyed this one. Im not an avid YA reader but this one was really decent. Through the whole book I had this Tim Burton feeling. Dark alleys, gothic buildings and statues....! A mix of Sleepy Hollow and Whitechapel.
“Nothing is so necessary for a young man as the company of intelligent women.” ...
This book has been one I got soaked into at the first page. The book takes inspiration from Asia and China. We meet opium smugglers, martial arts teachers, characters that you get deeply involved with and a beautiful described environment and culture. Rin is the protagonist of the story and she is the suffering one that eventually rises up and becomes someone that actually matters. It‘s been immensely fun to follow her development in this book.
