Life has been terrible but I‘ve been reading in extreme quantities to deal. I‘ve been counting down the hours until this arrived on my kindle and now it‘s here. Squeeeeee 💜💜💜💜💜

Wow. This was mesmerising. Flashes of memory, inspiration, love mixed with themes of Brexit, inequality, and impotent rage at the world. All presented in this dream like haze. Totally blew me away. My first one by Ali Smith. It won‘t be my last.
The Bank of Bad Days "So, if you are having another bad day you can say, Well, this feels bad, but there have been worse"
"Emotions are like passing storms and you have to remind yourself that it won't rain forever. You just have to sit down and watch it pour outside and then peak your head out when it looks dry."
My audiobook challenge for #ReadHarder2016
Picked this up at the library today for the 'Read a book under 100 pages' #ReadHarder2016 task. I was immediately completely charmed and powered through it in one go, but am now suffering from that sense of loss experienced when those characters are suddenly gone from your world. Recommended. And besides, how can anyone not love a book that loves books too?
Pretty darn excited about this little purchase #Bruce
Honestly, I didn't love Vol 3. I found the short story structure too disjointed and they didn't really give me what I wanted - which was more Sandman and his backstory. However, the example script at the back is a fantastic addition, giving you an insight into the vivid imagination and imagery of Gaiman whilst he works.
Many years later this still stays with me as one of the worst books I've ever read, and certainly one of the worst I've ever persevered with. Thank goodness the TV show of the same name is a million billion times better.
My 100% absolute favourite ever #Discworld book. I consider most of The Watch series to basically be little masterpieces but there's something about this that elevates it above. Can't recommend it enough and will always be able to reread it (but if you're going to do The Watch, start at the beginning with Guards Guards - it's totally worth it)
I thoroughly recommend following Penguin Classics UK on Facebook to see wonderful quotes popping up in your timeline
I picked Ten Days up at my library as part of the City Reads campaign. Not something I would have gone for ordinarily but I love the concept of encouraging everyone to read and opening up a conversation so went for it and was pleasantly surprised! Following several characters in the build up to, during and the aftermath of a London riot, I was gripped by the challenges of the ordinary characters vs the political machinations of those at the top.
Terry Pratchett has been a constant companion in my life for two decades now. I was half way through Raising Steam when he died, and it took me a long time to be able to get over that sense of loss (not just of my favourite author but of all those characters who would no longer be able to have a new adventure). Luckily, people like Vimes are preserved for ever on the pages and I still have characters like the Witches to discover.
