The Darkest Corners | Kara Thomas

I am adding this to my list of thrilling beach reads. My only complaint is that I found it a bit repetitive at times. Otherwise, overall enjoyable read. The twists were surprising and unexpected. I would certainly buy another book by this author.

I was very excited to read this as I live and grew up in the Manchester NH area myself. I was not disappointed. I thought this was beautifully written. For someone who knows the area it has a wonderful feeling of nostalgia, but even if you aren't from this area it is a fantastic read.

I have been a Blake Crouch fan for a long time, so it is no surprise I loved this book. It manages to touch on philosophical and scientific issues and still be an entertaining thriller as well.

Another fun, thrilling beach/vacation read. I went through this in one afternoon. I wish I liked the main character a bit more than I did, but I still enjoyed it.

I thought this was a great beach/vacation read. It had an interesting "twist" and some interesting characters. It stretched a bit in parts, I thought, but nothing unforgivable!

I thought this book was a nice Summer Read. Anyone who enjoys books like Gone Girl and Girl on the Train would enjoy this, I think. It is tough to say more without spoilers!

Full disclosure: I am a sucker for YA. I really enjoyed this book...I agree with most other reviewers that the format was interesting. I wish it had pushed further with some ideas instead of lapsing back into the expected, but it was certainly a good read.

While I like physical books for research (I am someone who writes notes in my books and flags pages) I find large books difficult. I am stuck reading them sitting up at a table or my desk, which always feels too formal.

yarnsfromelsewhere I'm currently studying this book for school & it's far too huge to sit comfortably with. Would you have any recommendations for books on Icelandic folklore? ( Something a bit smaller perhaps. XD ) I can't seem to find any myself. 8y
