One of the surprising best reads of my life! I didn't expect it to be so touching. The book has lovely paranormal elements, but the real meat is the depth of character Ben Reeder has put into Chance. The building of layers totally stands the test of time. I've read all 4 books in this series so far. It's fantastic! I don't doubt this,will one day be a movie. Really lovely structuring and world creation.

The idea of drinks threw me at first. it was a bit confusing as it felt like an alcoholic beverage. The mixologist is a potions crafter (Not your ordinary witchy woman), and a powerful one at that. This was well crafted without the too much or too little of other books. The characters are really interesting. This is the first of 3 I have read and,I must say, she really developed her characters well. Looking forward to book 4.
