I just started The Return of the King so not much has happened yet. The whole thing with Lady Eowyn is kind of weird though. I like that she brought up how they don't want her to fight since she's a woman, but I don't like how part of the reason she wants to fight is to go with Aragorn. I'm hoping she'll get to fight later in the book. Hopefully Merry and Pippin will also be reunited, but now they've both sworn themselves to different lords.

I can identify with the hobbits, specifically with Frodo and Sam. In the beginning of the book Frodo really doesn't want to go to Mordor and he's frustrated that fate put the Ring in his hands. He just wants to stay home, eat food and be happy, not go on some adventure. I can relate to wanting to just stay home and chill, but having something unpleasant in your life that's out of your control and prevents you from just enjoying yourself.

The author writes in a sort of old fashion manner. I'm pretty sure one of the characters said “hitherto“ at some point, so the language is pretty old fashioned. I think the author purposefully made the way they talk a bit more old fashioned, so that it seemed more medieval or something. He also came up with at least one language which is pretty cool. There are also a lot of poems and songs, which is interesting.

I haven't read the book, but it sounds very interesting. I think the idea of how language can influence the thoughts and beliefs of people is interesting and important. It's interesting how it shows the way that knowledge is power, and the danger of losing free speech.

The antagonist in The Fellowship of the Rings is the Enemy, but I don't know that much about him yet. So I would say the current antagonist that I know most about is the Ring. The Ring is trying to get back to the Enemy, it influences the thoughts of whoever has it, causing them to try to protect it and become corrupted. It's already showing with Frodo, he's hesitant to show the Ring to others, but uses when there's trouble.

The central conflict to the book is that Frodo is being pursued by the Black Riders, servants of the Enemy. The Enemy wants the Ring, and Frodo has the Ring. The conflict is character vs. character, as Frodo and his friends are being attacked by the Enemy.

So far I have gotten halfway through the book. I think that the book moves very slowly, but it's picking up a bit of speed, and there are more things happening now. I do appreciate the world created for the book. There are always these small little references to the history of Middle Earth, I mean there's a really long prologue just about hobbit history, and that was just the tip of the iceberg.

I think the reason his choice was so complicated was because is moral values conflicted with his sense of duty to the rebellion. Because of his morals, he feels it's wrong to kill Torres while he's defenseless. But his loyalty to the rebellion makes him feel obligated to kill Torres. Throughout the story, he weighs these two beliefs, trying to figure out whether or not to kill Torres.

Pickpick

This book is the second book in the Scholomance series. I personally really like this book, and the whole series, I've already read this book before. So where I am in the book is that they just started doing practice runs in the gym, splitting it into four language groups, a Spanish run, a Hindi run, a Chinese run, and an English run. People are going to the English run, but not many are going to the others. Aadya is talking to her about revisers.
