I am a fan of true tales that show the interior of first responder‘s minds. This book wasn‘t extremely memorable for me.
Having had a son who lived because of the efforts of NICU, I enjoy reading stories of other survivors and the heroes who helped.
I personally love first person accounts that give the reader a feeling of having been at the event. This book did that.
I find Wally Lamb‘s novels engrossing, at least until his latest one—it was terrible. But this story of a teacher who missed work on the day of a major school shooting feels much too real. Rare piece of fiction that I actually liked.
Heartbreaking first person account. I found her account of life in Iraq during Saddam as ruler and up to the rise of ISIS to be quite terrifying. Religion is the root of so much evil, and it certainly is in this account.
