Meh. I was really, really into the story at the beginning. About a quarter of the way through, though, I lost much of my interest. There just wasn't enough substance to hold my attention. I ended up just skim reading the final three-fourths.

I have to say, my face reflects my general feeling about what I've read lately. Everything is just kind of meh. It's okay, but nothing holds my interest or makes me hate to put it down.
Interesting - I'm just fading in my interest. Maybe I'll go back later.
This is a story that doesn't demand to be read so much as it tempts and woos readers with a lingering feeling of curiosity to discover what's after the next turn of the page. Not to be missed!
Loved it! Outstanding! Can't wait for more, more, more!
A clever contemporary mystery written with warmth and intelligence. 🤓
I liked this one. The pace is filled with every conceivable impediment and some pretty predictable turns; regardless, I liked it. Sweet and dramatic with real, well-formed characters and strong writing.
Just finished this one and I loved it. Sweet and sour and heartbreaking and triumphant. So good.
Sweet and magical. Reminds me of Sarah Addison Allen. It's a story that is current and real with a thread of magical realism.
Good story, interesting mystery. Told in the great Southern tradition - a little of this, a little of that, and lots of heart.
Only a few pages into this and loving it already. I need to savor this story.
I had been looking forward to this one but, as it turns out, it just wasn't for me. I couldn't get interested.
I was a little underwhelmed at first, but I'm very glad I kept reading. My interest and the plot intrigue grew with every chapter.
Far and away my favorite new series. It was a struggle to put the book down and almost sad for it to come to an end. Loved it!
A great weekend read.
Really liked this one - even more than the first in the series! A fast pace and fiesty characters really drive the story and kept me turning the pages.
Didn't hate it, didn't love it. Overall, I thought it was just so so.
Put me in the mood for fall, for sure! Kathi Daley sets a beautiful scene and fills it with warm characters that are a delight for readers to get to know.
Oh, Veronica Speedwell. I love you - you're my kind of people.
So excited to have gotten this for my birthday!!!
I liked it, but it felt a bit dragged out and repetitive. I always enjoy reading about the glass work projects too!
This was good! I needed something to listen to after a rather traumatic loss. I couldn't put my iPod on shuffle because random songs popped up that made me cry. This was perfect - interesting and involving and read by a great narrator.
This stylin' little foxy is prepared with some cozy material for Sunday's Save Our Cozies read-a-thin!
A departure from my usual reading, but I enjoyed it. Interesting and absorbing.
Have you ever finished a book and thought that you liked it . . . But? That's how I'm feeling about this one. I liked it . . . But . . . I just can't figure out what the but is.
What happens when you take a scattered, water-phobic actress/P.I. out of the deserts of Arizona and drop her on a literature themes cruise ship sailing to Hawaii? You get comedy, drama, danger, and more than a little madcap action. From the wickedly funny and talented Cindy Brown.
An intriguing read. Spooky, but not overly scary. It‘s nearly impossible to not get pulled in to the mystery and the drama builds well as events unfold. There are times when the dialogue and descriptions feel somewhat rough or clunky, but the strong plot camouflages those bumps.
A charming cozy mystery that exudes heart. The plot is as captivating as the characters and the recipes are described in mouth-watering detail. (I‘m especially glad the s‘mores bar recipe was included!) This story is full of sweet surprises and is a great treat for cozy fans and readers.
While I can‘t said that I found the book to be a gripping page-turner, I can say that it was enjoyable to read; the first book in a long time that relaxed me as I followed the story‘s twists and turns.
Another wonderful addition to the Bakeshop Mystery series. A fun read, a fast read, and a story that will make your heart race and your stomach growl!

I'm about a third of the way through and I'm enjoying! But why is Bessie so freaking whiney? Ugh, it's grating.
This book made me both happy and sad, but overall, I am charmed by it. A.J. is great. So cranky as to be endearing. So much razor wit and sly humor throughout!
