Shit. Shit. The narrator in this novel can never think an expletive without thinking it twice (or thrice). Other than that, I'm enjoying it.
"If enough people are different, no one has to be normal." Who would have thought a story about a little girl grappling with the death of her grandmother could possibly be so enchanting, delightful, and uplifting? Highly recommend.
"If you don't like someone, they can't hurt you. Almost-eight-year-olds who are often described as different learn that very quickly."
It's easier to make your way if you can choose your own soundtrack.
Tried twice to get through this book. Just can't do it. This might be the world's least needed sequel, and it's as sad and sappy as they come.
If you enjoyed THE NEST, give this book a try. I think you'll like it!
One sentence summary: Upper middle class New Yorkers lose the inheritance they were banking on and chaos ensues. One word review: Overpopulated.
