This is the first John Lescroart book that I have read that is not centred around Dismas Hardy but is focused on his friend, Lieutenant Detective Abe Glitsky and his pursuit to gather evidence to catch and convict serial killer Ro Curtlee after he is released from prison on an earlier conviction. We also get a look at Hardy‘s ex partner Wes Farrell and his adjustment to the new role of district attorney. I look forward to reading more Lescroart.

This first instalment of Will Robie was a fun page turner. I enjoyed the two story lines and how they are ultimately woven together. The main characters are very interesting. It will be interesting to see if Robie will continue in his job of “off the books” paid hitman in future instalments. David Baldacci is one of my favourite authors.
