Gracling is a very good book by Kristen Cashore. The plot and the characters are good and as the story continues there are some very interesting plot twists. 9.5/10 definitely recommend it!

human aspect: Change, evolution, and adaptation. As we go through life we add more and more layers to our personalities. This becomes very prominent as we read about both the lawyer and the banker in this story.

I wonder if Officer Torres ever felt like the barber was not on his side. I also wonder if the barber regretted not taking action while he could.

Through this book, Theo dissects his relationships with his friends, ex-friends, and father. Trying to identify how they treat each other, why their relationships are in the stage that they are in, and whether the relationships are healthy. I think this is a very important message. I have noticed that some friendships are only maintained because of the past rather than the present.
