My next in line. Starting now.
Can't believe I'm only just now finally reading any Verne.
These two sentences in the last will and testament of Ghost Bird sum up best the type of reader you're required to be to enjoy the Southern Reach Trilogy.
Posting a few days late... onto (halfway through) part 3
I already reviewed it on goodreads. I don't want to type out again. But damnit it was good.
First, the bad: David Mack's writing style isn't particularly great. Its hard to pick out what exactly is off, but his writing lacks in a way that often gives it a feel of being written by a high school student. Forgiving that, though, this is a great book and should be a great series. The idea and mechanics of magick in this novel is very original and very interesting, and that combined with a gripping story and characters make it worthwhile.
Change of plans. I've been sitting on this for a couple months and haven't gotten around to it until now.
Same book, but I have upgraded to hardcover.
I don't know what I'm doing here. So in the meantime; currently reading.
