I really wanted to love this book. Everyone told me of its greatness, and so I decided to try it out. However, the plot failed to captivate me, the characters felt flat, the conflict felt not so impactful, and overall, I was faintly bored. However, I read to the end, and the last ten pages felt a bit more interesting. Perhaps I was motivated to finish the book and get on with my life.

Victor Hugo‘s masterpiece was better than anything I could ever imagine. It‘s so heartbreaking, moving, and deep, that words fail to describe it. It‘s just... beautiful! With an intricate and mesmerizing plot, you are immediately immersed in the France, caring about the fate of every character. A drama, romance, tragedy, history and expository piece,
