2025 Favourite Graphic Novels
Predictably top heavy with DC selections. My absolute favourite Nightwing series ever finished this year, loved every volume.
2nd row has more DC plus some spooky picks and the fantastic Cats of the Louvre
3rd row = great LGBTQIA+ line up,
Bottom left corner = non-fiction
Bottom right = continuing series
so-soIssue 105 is drawn entirely from Nightwing's POV, which is a cool visual trick, but narratively, I found this whole underworld arc pretty low stakes.

so-soCan Tom Taylor make me cry with an emotional scene between Dick and Bruce? Is it smart to make the antagonist a foil for Nightwing? Does Taylor get a little carried away treating Nightwing as the purest superhero ever?

pickLove, love, love, love, love it! I'm incredibly biased, but this is officially my favourite comics run, ever. I think I'm actually going to own it which, if you knew my teeny tiny library space, says a lot.
I didn't want this run to end, but I do like how it did.
That mix of Batfam moments, and being hopeful about the future and getting help from friends, even among the bad guys and brutalities, 1/2
pickLOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOVE. I maintain that I would happily read this Tom Taylor Nightwing run as long as he cares to continue. There's such light and humour and warmth in it, even while the battle against all and sundry villains continues. You get Batfam moments, and you get satisfying story arcs, and you get actual optimism, and while I definitely have favourite artists, you get consistently great art 1/2
