Whoa 😳. I need some help!
In burning down other “piles” of audiobooks, I‘ve racked up 19 credits (😯) on Libro.fm.

I need recs, please 🙂
I know these credits don‘t expire. But I want to reduce this number by at least half.

So hit me - what do I need to listen to rather than read? I‘m open to all genres, and audiobooks account for close to half my reading.

Please and thank you 🙏🏻😊♥️

AlaMich If you like a bit of urban fantasy, The Stranger Times series has an amazing narrator. 1mo
AlaMich Or the Rivers of London series. Another great narrator. 1mo
Sweettartlaura @AlaMich thanks! Not familiar with either - I‘ll check them both out! 1mo

TheKidUpstairs If you're interested in music memoirs, I really enjoyed listening to Neneh Cherry's A Thousand Threads, and Kathleen Hanna's Rebel Girl.

Fiction that worked really well for me on audio (and I usually don't love listening to fiction): Megan Nolan's Ordinary Human Failings, and Claire Kilroy's Soldier Sailor
(edited) 1mo
TheKidUpstairs Other Non-Fiction and Memoirs that I loved on audio: Judi Dench's Shakespeare: the Man Who Pays the Rent (it is not Judi who narrates, but it is beautifully done), Fern Brady's Strong Female Characters, John Vaillant's Fire Season, Minnie Driver's Managing Expectations, and either of the books by Amber Ruffin and Lacey Lamar 1mo
Sweettartlaura @TheKidUpstairs I listened to Kathleen Hanna‘s memoir - I liked it! Not sure i‘m connected Neneh Cherry enough to connect to her the same way, but I‘ll look into it - thanks! And I‘ll check out the rest, too - I‘ve been meaning to get to Amber Ruffin‘s stuff for a while - this might be my prompt to put that up top of the list 👍🏻 1mo
monalyisha I‘ll tag a bunch of audiobooks I‘ve enjoyed recently! 1mo
monalyisha One more (and you can watch the show after)! 1mo
Sweettartlaura @monalyisha read Margo - loved it ✔️ Read HMRC - but maybe I will listen to #2 in the series 🤔 All the rest are new to me - thank you so much for all the recs!!!♥️ 1mo
Sweettartlaura @monalyisha wait - I read The Deep too ✔️ 1mo
monalyisha @Sweettartlaura Nice! I‘m listening to the first HMRC right now. Loving it. When you read The Deep, did you also find the song by clipping.? I loved the multimedia, collaborative storytelling aspect! 1mo
Chrissyreadit I discovered full cast narrations and graphic audiobooks- libro has a playlist page that I was excited to discover and includes both of these as playlists. 1mo
Chrissyreadit also @monalyisha adding to my tbr now…. thank you! 1mo
monalyisha @Chrissyreadit Of course! The pleasure of listening to audiobooks is the one benefit of my long commute. 1mo
SaraBeagle Best audiobook I listened to last year! 1mo

I‘ve got a cold so I‘ve ticked myself up in bed to continue collating my TBR!! 227 titles so far… I wish I was a quicker reader!

quietlycuriouskate I like the "enthusiasm meter" especially. 3mo
Magpiegem @quietlycuriouskate it makes me realise how many books I have on my list or actually own that I must have been excited about at some point but now I feel a bit Meh. I‘m going to use it at the end if the year to see if my enthusiasm to read is actually a good indication of whether I will enjoy it or not 3mo

Here‘s my #top24of24! I read some great books this year, including some new releases, classics I‘d had on my TBR for a long time, and a few that had been sitting on my shelf. Overall a good reading year. 📚

Megabooks The Safekeep was so good! Nice list!! 3mo
squirrelbrain We have quite a few the same - and I had Bird Hearts and Flamingo on previous years‘ lists! 3mo
TrishB Great list 👍🏻 3mo
See All 23 Comments
Tamra We have 3 in common. 😁 Clear, History of Sound, and North Woods. 3mo
BarbaraBB It‘s almost scary, I agree on so many… I have All Fours, The Safekeep and History of Sound on this year‘s list too. Remains, Garden of Evening Mist, Fingersmith, Little Friend, Burgess Boys, Moon Tiger and Little Birds are all time favorites of mine. ⬇️ 3mo
BarbaraBB Also, I loved Flamingo, The Wall, Clear, What I‘d rather not Think About, Kids run the Show, Ordinary Failings, Margo and North Woods!! So I need to read the ones I haven‘t yet: Noopiming, Days Work, Get in Trouble, Brief Lives and of course Intermezzo 👯🤍 (edited) 3mo
sarahbarnes @BarbaraBB so crazy how similar our reading has been! I will say your list has inspired me to read more crime noir this year - I‘m interested in the ones you listed! 📚 3mo
sarahbarnes @Tamra I just saw your list! So fun to see all the similarities! 😊 3mo
sarahbarnes @squirrelbrain ah I just saw you posted your list! 3mo
sarahbarnes @Megabooks so good!! Thank you! 3mo
sarahbarnes @TrishB ♥️♥️ 3mo
youneverarrived So many great books here 🤍 I love Sarah Waters! I bought the Safekeep the other day so I think that will be one of my first reads of the new year. 3mo
sarahbarnes @youneverarrived that sounds like a great plan. You‘re in for a wonderful read. 🩵 3mo
kspenmoll Some of these books are up for me this 2025- I get the best book ideas from everyone‘s #Top24of24 (edited) 3mo
Suet624 Hahaha. Each book I saw listed I‘d say “yup, so good”. I haven‘t read every one on your list but close enough. It‘s been a great reading year for both of us! 3mo
sarahbarnes @kspenmoll I agree! It‘s always so fun to look at the lists and add to my TBR! 3mo
sarahbarnes @Suet624 too funny - I feel like we‘ve definitely both read some great books this year! I‘ve definitely gotten some recommendations from you. 3mo
Lesliereadsalot So many good ones on there! 3mo
Cathythoughts Taking a screenshot to investigate further 👍🏻😁 3mo
Centique I love so many books on your list! So glad to see Garden of Evening Mist, Remains of the Day and Moon Tiger are there 😍 and North Woods is probably my favourite of the year. 3mo
JuniperWilde I have Noopiming on my TBR. I‘ve been waiting for the right moment to start it. Your list has prompted me to put it top of my list for ‘25. 3mo
sarahbarnes @JuniperWilde it really is so good. I hope you enjoy it! 3mo
sarahbarnes @Centique @Lesliereadsalot @Cathythoughts here‘s to another great reading year! ♥️♥️ 3mo

Pretty excited about my list from @Read4life The ones marked in green are ones I‘ve read, and the blue ones are sitting on my shelves ready to be picked up in January. Thanks so much, @monalyisha for putting this together! Looking forward to lots of reading fun! #auldlangspine 🎉🎉🎉

Read4life I‘m excited to be paired with you. 😁 4mo

Had some quiet time this morning so I got my December #BookSpin list together.

TheAromaofBooks Cannot believe it's time for the year's final BookSpin! 4mo
TheBookgeekFrau @TheAromaofBooks I knowwwww 🤯😂 4mo
AuthorDeniseTurney Read Roll of Thunder, Hear by Cry years ago. Loved it! 4mo
TheBookgeekFrau @AuthorDeniseTurney That's one of the many school reads that somehow passed me by, and sadly there's been a lot of them 🤦🏻‍♀️ but I'm working on it! 😅 4mo

I got 65/100. Several I had never heard, but now want to try. Here are the three that I will try first:

1. Butterscotch Pie
2. Graham Cracker Toffee
3. Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Now I want pie! 🥧 great list @dabbe #TLT

TheSpineView I tried the Strawberry Pretzel at a pot luck. I liked the sweet and savory combo. 5mo
dabbe I do, too! 🤩 Thanks for playing and sharing! 🧡🍁🤎 5mo
MaureenMc In my neck of the woods (Midwest) we emphasize the *salad* part of strawberry pretzel salad, so it‘s a side dish, not a dessert. 🤣🤣 (edited) 5mo
Mollyanna @TheSpineView that‘s what intrigues me about it. I love sweet/salt together. 5mo
Mollyanna @MaureenMc I grew up with cookie salad or snickers salad as a side dish 😂, so I‘m right there with you! 5mo

I've seen 18/100 of these fan favorites! Not a very good ranking, but I'm a 90's baby. What do you rank?

dabbe Not bad at all! Thanks for playing and sharing! 🖤🎃🖤 6mo

I got 91/100… I love movie soundtracks. It‘s hard to pick top 3 songs, so I‘ll go with top 3 singers/actors

1. Gene Kelly
2. Barbra Streisand
3. Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers

Honorable Mention: Judy Garland

Classic movie musicals are totally my thing 😊

#TLT

lil1inblue I love classic movies - especially the musicals. Gene Kelly is just phenomenal! 7mo
Mollyanna @lil1inblue Absolutely agree. He could sing, he could dance… Love Gene Kelly. 7mo
dabbe #woohooyou! I adore classics and musicals, too! And your choices? 🎯 Thanks for playing and sharing! 🩶❤️🖤 7mo
Mollyanna @dabbe this was a trip down memory lane, I couldn‘t get enough of the classic musicals during my teens and early 20s. 7mo

Late again. Thanks for the tag, @Eggs #WondrousWednesday
1. Generally I would rather read the book.
2. Laundry.
3. Audio books are not for me. I can‘t concentrate.
4. Chocolate, although I rarely eat sweets anymore.
5. I use mechanical pencils a lot at school; I love my fountain pens for letter writing.
6. Both.
7. Both.
8. Not a fish girl, but I love halibut. So fowl.
9. In person if I can.
10. Hmmm. Both. I love a snow day.

Jari-chan Love your first answer 😁 7mo
TheLudicReader @Jari-chan sometimes, a crappy book makes a fun movie (The Kissing Booth, for example, was great but the book, unreadable.) 🤣 7mo
Eggs Thanks for joining in 💕 7mo

#Top25of21

My top 25 books of the 21st century so far. I had to leave so many great books off the list that I‘m probably going to make this “part 1” and do a Top 50…

BarbaraBB Great list! I should have added an Everett too! 8mo
Billypar Very nice list! Atonement and Bel Canto were such incredible, sad books 💔 Life of Pi is one that sticks with me: I remember feeling fully immersed in that story 🐅 8mo
