My most recent nonfiction read is excellent and perfect for reading during this weekend before Dia de los Muertos. Soooo good. And the illustrations absolutely rock! It‘s too late for @Liberty ‘s giveaway but I want everyone to read this book ☠️#GIVEAWAYREALTALK

Finished this one last night on audio. Amazing story. This book is not only a true American immigrant story for the 21st century but also a coming of age memoir, a raw look at trauma and depression in America. I literally cannot give it enough stars. This is one of the most real memoirs I think I've ever read and I loved it. Also my latest nonfiction! #giveawayrealtalk

Robothugs I‘m still upset this book has nothing to do with cotton candy. 😔 7y
Alicia @Robothugs haha you're right!!! 7y
Laura317 It was heartbreaking! I could not believe some of the awful things that happened to her and her family! Great memoir. 7y

Dataclysm really made me think: What do our online identities say about us?

Most recent nonfiction I read was The Art of Asking by Amanda Palmer. I adored this book. Incredibly well written, Palmer is a fascinating person from her first career as a street performer, her band the Dresden Dolls, to her marriage to Neil Gaiman. She is unapologetically herself and that is part of the reason this book meant so much to me. #GIVEAWAYREALTALK @Liberty

After hearing about this essay collection on All the Books! I knew I had to check it out. The intersection of pop culture and feminism is one of my sweet spots. But I found this collection to be too self-serious for my taste. I prefer my feminist essays more in the earnest, down-to-earth, hilarious Lindy West/Caitlin Moran vein. But it was a worthwhile if not entirely enjoyable read, with lots of good food for thought. #GIVEAWAYREALTALK @Liberty

#giveawayrealtalk @Liberty doing this made me realize it‘s been a minute since I picked up a nonfiction book! I listened to this, which was a weird format, but I am a sucker for a memoir or autobiography read by the author.
