Three days in and I'm already behind. The best book I read in February was the tagged. Released in February 2024, this talks about disinformation and how it is harming America. Reading it in February 2025, if felt like too little too late and was infuriating, but the sort of book I recommended to those who showed interest in learning more and weren't chronically online like I was/ am.

Even if we could set aside the rampant disinformation influencing the current regime‘s justification for ripping the guts out of federal government agencies (which is a very big “if” to take into account), it just doesn‘t make sense to do it the way they‘re doing it. As we‘ve already seen, they fired people they really shouldn‘t have fired.

True budgetary and policy analysis takes weeks if not months to accomplish properly. #longtimefed #psrw

Very dry to begin with but then gains traction.

I wanted to like this one more then I did. Whilst it started out well...it was dragging by the end. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ read. I would've like a little more information and a better paced narrative. #bookspin @thearomaofbooks

LiteraryinPA What are you making? It‘s gorgeous! 2y
Aims42 Oof, good to know 👍 I started it earlier this week because I loved “A Gentleman in Moscow”, but I couldn‘t stay focused on it so I put it down. Thank you for this review, I think I‘ll pass on trying again. 2y

KristiAhlers @LiteraryinLawrence it one of 5 blankets I'm making for Christmas gifts this year. And thank you! 2y
LiteraryinPA @KristiAhlers I know this is weird, but I‘m a crocheter. Would you mind sharing what yarn you‘re using? 2y
KristiAhlers @LiteraryinLawrence not a problem. It's Caron Yarnspiration Blossom Cakes. The yarn is so soft and it's making a beautiful blanket. 2y

Not really good, but it could be worse.

Good book of lists, just a little off-putting for my taste.

I didn't know this was a YA book when I started it, and most of the time it doesn't read that way. Sometimes the author stops to explain something, like the Cold War, that would be obvious to any adult. That said, it's still an interesting examination of the "fake news" phenomenon and how to spot it in print, on TV and online. 3 ???
