This book is well written and tells a compelling story, striking a balance between avoiding the dull and dry procedural elements & not turning the spy craft elements into a Bond/Bourne parody. Nonetheless it was hard for me to read at times.

As a #longtimefed I‘ve never been a big fan of real life espionage stories, but it hits differently at this stage in history. That‘s probably about the finest point I can put on it or need to put on it…

This is one of my favorite series. I love revisiting this family from time to time. This book was full of adventure and danger (just like always). At this point, time is truly irrelevant as they have changed the course of time. They live in an alternate timeline. I love how they can effect change in their world and bring things from the present back with them despite the dangers that they face. I rated it 5 stars. (from January)

This library hold came in, + I started the book, as the current events in Syria hit the headlines. A very good spy thriller set in the country 10 years ago as revolution threatens the Assad regime who are experimenting with poison gas. A cia operative runs a mole + falls for her as she spys on the regime. The hunt for the mole, discovery of the hidden weapons is well done. The news + revelation of horror, however, made it an uncomfortable read

I‘m only reading this book. Simon & Schuster sent me a physical ARC of this book when I was in their influencer program but I never read it. I‘m listening to it on audio right now. I‘m not enjoying this book. I don‘t think it‘s for me but I‘ll keep reading it. If I can‘t get into it then I‘ll DNF it.
