Pickpick

This is an interesting collection of reflections on human connections, written in the context of the COVID 19 pandemic. I didn't find his observations on inequality and the wider world particularly original (maybe that's a little harsh), but his insights into his creative process, his mental health struggles and his life experiences generally were really illuminating.

My apologies. I forgot to post November's read.

Our November read is VW's 1929 extended essay on the writing, creativity, and the need for women to have financial freedom and self-determination.
Three guineas is her essay on gender differences and inequalities.

All are welcome to join us. Please let me know if you wish to be added/removed from the taglist.

I went walking on Friday in my neighborhood on my favorite walking trail. I wrote about it in the Journal app on my phone and took pictures of these birds that I saw.

This morning I picked up my journal for the first time since I was sick. The prompt was “Walk About.” Because I was in bed 5 days, my response was so different than it would have been if I had been healthy: walking as reemerging, walking as recovery, walking as rebirth, walking as connection(with my students). #SeptemberJournalingPrompts #walkabout #day9

TheBookHippie It is funny how that happens. It‘s never what you think. I‘m glad you‘re feeling better. (edited) 2mo
wildwoodreads Hope you feel better soon! Walking is definitely healing. I broke my left leg and my right ankle last year and let me tell you the first time I could actually walk after was literally a life changing experience. 2mo
kspenmoll @wildwoodreads What a horrible experience for you! I am so sorry that happened. You certainly know the feeling of gratitude after that experience! 💗 2mo

Prompt: Author

I can‘t say she‘s my favorite author but she definitely is whom I find to be most intriguing.

Eggs I haven‘t read her yet 2mo
DrSabrinaMoldenReads Such a sad life. When she committed suicide, there was no doubt. She wanted to die 2mo

An old college book of my mother-in-law‘s that I‘ve always wanted to read. Not entirely a cultural point-by-point analysis of Mexican character and thought, but covers a good swath of Central American history and the psychological/philosophical changes a people must make to accommodate the coming of the conquistadors, Spanish Catholicism, French revolutionary thought and American imperialism. Paz, as poet, places ritual, love and poetry as balm.
