Anna Pigeon can‘t catch a break! Hubs knows she‘s frazzled from her last case, so he takes her on a getaway, but of course it soon turns into anything but relaxing. The story unfolds in a way that paralleled an event in the news at the time, but to say more would be a #spoiler so I‘ll leave it at that. Before I read this book, I thought Terlingua was just a variety of #chilli and had no idea it was actually a town in Texas!

#MarchMunchies #chilli??We read "That Old Ace in the Hole" (my first & only Proulx-so far) for my virtual foodie book club & it was quirky & surprisingly fairly food-filled. I made my own version of the "...famed Woolybucket curry chile, always served at the Barbwire Festival, the recipe jealously guarded."
I added sweet potatoes ? also mentioned in the book & while not at all traditional with the curry spices, it was a pretty tasty chili. ?

jenniferw88 If I remember correctly, Postcards features a lot of food (but it is about 10 years since I read it for school! 🤣) 7y

#MarchMunchies Day 26 #Chilli

Ok, so my interpretation of today‘s prompt is a somewhat liberal one.

But I reckon ‘Hellfire‘ and ‘Red Dragon‘ could definitely be names for types of chillies, don‘t you think 🤔🌶🔥😅?

Both great books by the way 👍.
