So this is my tired and confused face. Tired because of the obvious, confused because #Goodreads just listed this gem of a SCI-FI novel in their top 50 Fantasy novels rather than the Sci-fi list. 😑
No no no no no. Anne spent so long arguing the point that these are clearly Sci-fi. Since she's no longer here to defend the point I'll do it for her! 😂

laurieluna @Lizpixie exactly! And the dragons can jump through time. I distinctly remember reading about a magazine in the 80s that made the exact same mistake of calling it fantasy. Can't believe it's still being done. 😤 7y

laurieluna @MythicReads yep. I've seen them do it a few times with different genres. But this one really bothers me because of how much Anne went through in her writing career to be taken seriously as a Sci-fi writer, especially in those early years. 7y
Sophoclessweetheart I don't think I've ever read her books before but I've been tempted by her a few times in my local bookshop where she is always on the sci-fi aisle. But I've seen it happen with so many authors and it's really disrespectful. ESPECIALLY if the author has expressed deeply they are one genre and not the other x 7y
laurieluna @MythicReads she reached a point where she just started ignoring journalists and reporters in interviews if they used the fantasy word 😂 amazing woman. I started with Restoree which was her first novel. You can see how much she wanted to write a strong female lead, however it's still partly a product of it's time (it was written in 1967, tough time to be a female sci-fi writer!). 7y

BillBlume I'll admit that this series felt like it started as fantasy, but then it morphed into more of a sci-fi/fantasy hybrid. Love this book. 7y
