Farmer Duck [With CD (Audio)]
Farmer Duck [With CD (Audio)] | Martin Waddell
3 posts | 6 read
Martin Waddell's uplifting modern fable and Helen Oxenbury's humor and pathos make this a very special collaboration. Farmer Duck isn't your average duck. This duck cooks and cleans, tends the fields, and cares for the other animals on the farm all because the owner of the farm is too lazy to do these things himself. But when Farmer Duck finally collapses from exhaustion, the farmyard animals come to the rescue with a simple but heroic plan."

This (F) book is about a duck who is forced to do all the work on the farm while the fat farmer lays in bed all day. This duck works himself to the bone, and when the other farm animals see he's at his wits end, they hatch a plan. This book can be reread and used as a tool in many subject areas and is also available in many languages. DrSpalding Your resource not only introduces the reader to the author but also provides detailed information about the book that you could use align to Language Arts Florida Standards. This would make for a great book to compare and contrast to the classic TL book The Little Red Hen. 7y

andrew61 @Cinfhen yes there is nothing like the joy of words and pictures, even when you've read the same book umpteen times. 8y
