Why steal a potion when you can steal a potioneer?Grumpy potioneer Ambrose Beake has only one social event marked on his calendar: the country's three-day Potion Convention. Alchemists from all over the world pour in to discuss their life's work, and Ambrose eagerly dives into the excitement. Greeting old friends, speaking on panels, hopping into heated debates...And getting kidnapped by an underground crime syndicate. The criminals demand that Ambrose brew an impossible illusion potion-but the Guild's protocol for such kidnappings is clear. He must agree to do the work, then delay the project as much as possible, while above ground, his boyfriend Eli and best friend Dawn plot to save him. They're not alone in this venture, either-a beautiful journalist arrives to cover the rescue, just as eager as they are to investigate, infiltrate...and ignite a few sparks in Dawn's heart along the way.But while Dawn struggles to ignore those sparks and Eli struggles to save his beloved, Ambrose delves into the syndicate's secrets-and finds something far more impossible hidden within its depths.

Today‘s tourist site reading. I did the Musée d‘Orsay this morning, then headed to the Musée Rodin for their excellent gardens.

I had a lot of fun with A CAPTURED CAULDRON and it was great to see all the characters again, but it didn‘t sparkle the same way A RIVAL MOST VIAL did. So I‘m in that weird position where I‘m disappointed with something I really liked. Still, I‘ll read any other Side Quest Row books Ashwick throws at me.

tpixie What a great day! 2 great places. I‘m so happy for you and am nostalgic!!! 3w
xicanti @tpixie I also went to Sacre Coeur, then walked home through Montmartre! 2w
tpixie @xicanti big day! Amazing!! 2w
peanutnine Musee d'Orsay was one of my favorites when I lived in Paris! Jealous! 😄 I've been meaning to get to this sequel, I've definitely tempered my expectations though. Second in a series is hard to live up to the first 2w
xicanti @peanutnine the Musée d‘Orsay was SO GREAT. I had an amazing time. 2w

I‘m four hours into my Louvre visit and I‘ve still got most of the sculptural gallery to go. Before I tackle it, I need to sit on a red velvet couch (my favourite thing I‘ve found in Paris, seriously) and read my book for half an hour or so. My left foot‘s been in agony for about four and a half hours now and I‘ve just got on with it, because what else can you do, but now I need a BREAK.

Dilara I hope there's nothing seriously wrong with your foot and you can enjoy the rest of your visit. 3w
thegirlwiththelibrarybag Reading on a velvet couch in Paris (or the Louvre) sounds absolutely delightful! Hope your foot troubles are soon behind you. 3w
xicanti @Dilara it‘s nothing permanent; just strain from the sheer amount of walking I‘ve done these last few days. I haven‘t let it keep me from wandering the streets. 3w
xicanti @thegirlwiththelibrarybag the Louvre mostly have these awkward benches with no backs, so I was SO HAPPY to see a proper couch I could sit on! It was down in a stairwell, too, so I didn‘t have any competition for it. 3w
tpixie @xicanti perfect reading spot!! ❤️🛋️❤️ 3w
