straight punch by Monique Polak. Tessa mcphill a tagger and highschool student at new directions who previously was sent there due to juvie crime. tessa meets new people at new directions but has one problem she has to overcome her fear of public speaking. through out the story one occuring theme is friendship in the story Tessa mcphill struggles to keep or maintain her friendships as many of her friends live very tragic and sad backstorys
Devon.tailfeathers Tessa mcphills school new directions has a mandatory boxing class and another occuring theme is fear. Tess mcphills chilld hood is rather a traumatic event where she survives a riot but is left with the fear of violence and another problem Tessa pchill has is overcoming is her fear of violence through boxing.
