This was adorable. Life affirming happiness. A grief stricken twenty-four-year-old woman is befriended by a 90-year-old man and their friendship becomes the impetus for change and growth for them both. I had read and loved Cronin‘s earlier novel about a cross-generational friendship, One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margo. Hope she writes some more!

I noticed Marianne‘s newest book as I was tracking my reread of 100 years of Lenni and Margot. This book is adorable. We should all be so lucky to have an Eddie as our best friend, and if this author chooses to create her stories based on characters whose lives are richer when they befriend someone generations older/younger I will happily keep reading her.

I don‘t know how I came across this sweet, sweet book (maybe The New York Times?), about the relationship between 90 year old Eddie and 20 something Bella. These characters really came to life for me, along with all the other people who have been part of their lives. Some readers might find it cheesy, but I found it charming.

mcctrish I am loving it and I don‘t know where I read about it either. I read another book by the author that I found on a list about books that feel like a hug and this has a similar vibe 9mo

I had very high expectations, since her debut “Lennie & Margot” is one of my favorite books and keeps breaking my heart! Eddie Winston is very sweet and his friendship with Bella is heartwarming. I really loved it, I just wished it would have been ~10 pages longer, since the ending felt very abrupt.
