I suspected the title was a bit of a stretch and a bait, and it is! But the book - 1st published in 1992 - is still inspiring, with ideas for introducing the written word to very young children, with no expectation that they'll be fluent readers aged 3. It introduces a full-word method (with flashcards), integrated into the child's everyday life, and led by their interests, pace & learning style.
