I would use this book to teach the therese‘s of self love and acceptance, as it is a theme every child faces in life. It teaches children to embrace their differences and learn to love themselves.
Pizza face shares the story of the middle school life of a boy named Gabe. Gabe works through the struggles in life with friendship, popularity, and self acceptance. It is an entertaining story and it brings emotions to life.
I like how the author doesn't shy away from talking about topics that bother a lot of kids. This one deals with puberty, but mostly just feeling uncomfortable with yourself. There is also a lot having to do with bullying, I like that this was dealt with in an understanding way. It was a good story, a great follow-up to the first book, though they don't necessarily have to be read in order.
