Tiger Chair
Tiger Chair | Max Brooks

When China invades America, guerrilla warfare explodes on the streets of Los Angeles in this provocative short story about the future of war from Max Brooks, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of World War Z.
China thought it would be a quick war, an easy war. But now, years later, as the insurgency on the streets of Los Angeles escalates but the propaganda never changes, a Chinese officer can’t keep silent any longer. Torn between loyalty to his country and loyalty to his troops, he writes a brutally honest—and possibly suicidal—letter home to unmask the truth.
Brooks combines his signature meticulous research with unforgettable characters in this landmark work of speculative fiction.

I completed my #readyourkindle picks. #4 was a different book but I didn‘t feel like reading it so I picked something else to replace it. I reread the first book in a trilogy and then DNF‘d the second book and decided not to continue with the series. If I finish or DNF a series, I‘m still getting it off of my list either way. I have so many unfinished series. I‘m glad I can take this series off of my list.

Here‘s my review for a book I just finished reading. I‘m counting this book for my second Kindle Unlimited prompt on my #readyourkindle list and I‘m also adding it to one of my Free Space spots on my #bookspinbingo board. The good thing about this one is that I got to read it for free and I only wasted an hour on it.

I‘ve decided on my two #kindleunlimited books I want to read this month for #readyourkindle since I have 2 Kindle Unlimited prompts on my list. Both of these are by new to me authors. The Pop Star And The Devil sounded interesting to me because it says that it‘s perfect for fans of Taylor Swift and I am a Swiftie. Tiger Chair is about China invading America. It sounds kind of scary. I‘ve never read Max Brooks or Rektok Ross.

I couldn‘t finish it. I made it about 25% but it was just too depressing.

Pickpick

China has initiated WWIII. They have attacked the U S A. Evidently, this has been the beginning of their undoing. There is a chasm of cultural understanding. And the occupiers are just beginning to realize their mistake. Dissent from within may be their final undoing. This powerful short story reminded me of All Quiet on the Western Front. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rambling musings on an imaginary war. Started out interesting but I was glad when it ended. The title comes from the name of the chair the prisoners sit in when being tortured.
