Heroin and the dark desolateness of post-Vietnam America. A war journalist smuggles heroin home to California and a violent, gritty chase ensues between the newly minted dealer, his wife and accomplice, the existing syndicate and corrupt Feds. Not sure if I‘ve read anything like it.
