Sick day reading. I almost finished this last night but couldn‘t quite make it. I discovered this author earlier this year and although I haven‘t read many of her books, I‘ve enjoyed the few that I have read. Interconnected characters but you don‘t need to read them in order. I actually read Merrie‘s book first and this would be the one before. Crime, hit men, a sweet pair of sisters. There‘s the perfect blend of humor, romance, and action.

Today‘s sick time reading. I did go to work this morning but left early—I have to go back tonight for a meeting but have already arranged to take tomorrow off. Bronchitis—I‘m real sick of your 💩💩

cobwebmoth I hope it starts to get better soon! 7y
CocoReads @cobwebmoth I know it will-I should have went to the dr before it got so bad so I know it‘ll just take a little longer 7y
Fortifiedbybooks I'm sick, too, and took the rest of the day off. Whatever it is I have is being doubled by a severe book hangover 😳 I hope we both feel better soon! 7y

I'm a huge fan of Diana Palmer, but I think this is one of the toughest storyline I have ever read. I won't fool you, the violence is graphic and left me in tears. But it honestly didn't make me turn away from the story, as the plot was well researched and the story well written.
Defender is a great book and although it's a more gritty Diana Palmer book it's one that should not be missed.

I give Defender 4 stars.
