This was so effective and subtly creepy until it wasn't subtle anymore. Very highly recommend and going to look into this author's other works.

This is a soft pick for me. For such a short story I felt like it dragged a bit and was pretty predictable, which both might have been intended by the author as the main character seems blindly infatuated by a new love. The ending saved it for me as it was shocking even if predictable. Shortish read so worth the time if you‘re curious. 🌟🌟🌟

Ugh, I had such a hard time rating this book. I knew right where this story was going the whole time (possibly the author‘s intent?). I found the characters rather annoying (though unlikeabley characters don‘t ruin a book for me). It felt a little like an old Criminal Minds episode with more background and more sex (which I guess is neither good nor bad for me). Ended up giving it a pick as I could not put it down!

My favorite book for the month of January was Bloom by Delilah S. Dawson! #BookBracket #BookBracket2025 #readingbracket #readingbracket2025

This book is a total vibe for #Valloween / #ValloweenSwap. So good!

Not only my favorite cover of the books I've read this year, but one of my top reads! Wonderfully sweet until it's not 😈 It's hard to know how much to talk about; the tag line lets you know it is going to turn dark, but the romance really is nicely portrayed, and the main character's internal thoughts are is so well described. At just under 200 pages, it could absolutely be a one-sitting read. I did three, but it was hard to put down in between.

Thank you, Annie! Cady helped supervise the unboxing. The treats and books are perfect. I actually haven't read any Max Brooks yet, and I've heard so much about Needless Street and Cemetery Boys. I think Bloom will be first, though 😜

I didn‘t realise it was a horror romance but I‘m surprised at how good it is so far. It won‘t hurt to come out of my comfort zone!

"Maybe she's thinking about the same thing James Joyce and his wife used to think about...minus all the farting, because James Joyce was a weird little dude."
Ha! I love this reference. If you are ever bored (or weirdly curious) go read the love letters James Joyce wrote to his wife, Nora! Be prepared for some weirdness though that you will not soon forget! ??
