I enjoyed this book immensely. The translation had its ups and downs but flows after the first few chapters. This is a subject that is becoming more relevant and with the advent of AI ( not part of this book) will become even more frightening. Food for thought. Hug your children. Put down the phone

The tagged book was this week‘s favorite although Underground Airlines came close. Both give a rather disturbing account of current times.
Was very excited to read this and it didn‘t disappoint. A fictional examination of the impact on children living a life under the microscope of their “influencer” parents. While some parts may have been exaggerated for effect, I think it raised a lot of questions about these children‘s lives and the complicity of the public that consumers family influencer content. Highly recommended.
Mélanie grew up in the heyday of reality TV and wants to be famous too. In her quest for fame, she decides to film her children's daily lives and put them on YouTube. Her channel becomes a huge success. Until the day her daughter disappears.
This book is a fierce criticism of social media and a society that is becoming increasingly narcissistic. A society in which everything and everyone is put at the service of likes and views.
