This book is about #Fame, having it and losing it and trying to get it back. It's an interesting (if not amazing) story of a rockstar trying to make a comeback years after her career ended. #Septembowie @Marchpane

Marchpane This sounds great, I'd not heard of this one before! 7y

Pickpick

Another book I'm surprised more aren't talking about. There's a grittiness to this come-back tour, a realness to Anna herself that I found so compelling. Nothing cliche about this one, and I loved seeing a female character with such raw artistic ambition.

GuiltyFeat I read this last year after a strong recommendation but found it a little disappointing. Disjointed and detached. It never really came together for me. 8y

Somehow I constantly wind up reading books about washed-up middle-aged one-hit wonders getting their shit together in one way or another (seriously--if my roommate wasn't currently reading my copy of Modern Lovers, I'd've swapped that in instead of How to Build a Girl for a complete set). The main characters are usually insufferable, but some are better than others. #augustphotochallenge #booksandmusic
