This start to a new YA fantasy series blends modern small-town Gracie, GA with a pantheon of gods in exile from an another world. Gem narrates this tale, struggling to find balance not only in their teen life in moving from Atlanta to a more rural community, but also in the startling revelation that their dreams may just be more than they seem. The cast size & eons of history get a bit chaotic at times but adults may not find this as approachable.

Gem Echols, a nonbinary Seminole teen, has been having strange, disturbing, often violent dreams. One day, the same day several people show up claiming to know them even though Gem doesn‘t remember them, those dreams start bleeding into reality. Gem isn‘t at all who they think they are & there are some people who really don‘t like them. An intense, dark YA villain origin story. Book comes with content warning from the author. On sale 11/28.

Unsure of what is real and unreal, Gem soon discovers how little they know about who they really are and what that means for their future. Just started this one and wow, the opening chapter is intense. I think this is going to be a good one. On sale 11/28/23.
